    Side-by-Side Word Windows (Office 2000 SR-1)

Back in the ancient days predating Word 97, there used to be an option off the Window pulldown (in addition to New Window, Split, and Arrange All) that would tile two Word documents vertically side by side. I believe Woody once had a Watch edition that described creating a macro or toolbar tweak for reinstating this functionality. I can't find it. I know I can tile a bunch of Windows from outside of Word (and, yes, Word itself would be affected). But does anyone remember, or know how to do what the old Word menu item permitted?

You might write a macro positioning two windows from the application.windows collection accordingly.
The maximum available space is available by using Application.UsableHeight and Application.UsableWidth and you can set the position/size of every window in the collection with their Left, Top, Width and Height properties.

You can Window/Tile and rearrange by dragging the title bar. Or you have nothing else open, because you only want to see your Word docs, right click on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. There you will have the choice of horizontal or vertical

You may be thinking of the Word Add-In by Romke Soldaat that restores Word 2000 to an MDI like Word 97.

If you are then you can get the add-in from http://forums.compuserve.com/gvforums/UK/d...&SEC=7&FID=3675

This will make Word 2K operate more like W97. Only on eicon in the task bar, and more than likely Tile from the Windows menu in Word.

This is my response to the latest posting I found regarding Vertically-tiled document windows. I'd coded the darn thing before I thought to search the Lounge ( unusual for me ).
    Works in Word97/SR2 so far.
