Protecting a Word document
I am trying to set up a template where I can send a document via email yet have a similiar result to faxing - the document can't be edited and logos reused (like a PDF file). I have protected for forms (with no form fields) but the document can be saved as RTF and the protection is lost. I tried a macro to hide the Save menu & toolbar options but the user can choose (and probably should) disable macros when they open the document.
Can it be done (apart from converting it to PDF)?

Re: Protecting a Word document
It can't be done very well. However, if the document isn't too long you can Select individual pages and paste them into a new document using Paste Special... and pasting them as pictures. You will lose headers/footers this way but it might suffice for what you want to do. (You also get much bigger documents!)Charles Kyle Kenyon
