'Replies' appearing very late

Is it a general problem that people are getting the emailed "replies" to their posts from other people days and days after they were made on the Lounge? I've just has some from last Sunday and earlier!

Funnily enough, I just got some spam in that was sent last Sunday! - but otherwise all notifications are coming through OK.
It could be the tale-end of Sobig still clogging the arteries of the internet, or a local (to you) delay.
You could try posting in Test and replying to yourself to test the system.....

I wasn't particularly concerned really! Of course the holdup could have been anywhere, but I was worried that the Vast Quantity of Lounge Servers was reaching another critical threshold.

PsS I see Long Crendon made it to 300 yesterday!

Haven't seen any delay in replies to me.

BTW, who, what or why is Long Crendon. Is there some significance to the 300 in delaying replies? Just curious.

Sorry, it is an in-joke, sort of.

The threshold for BT enabling the Long Crendon telephone exchange for the so-called "broadband" ADSL has just been reached. Rejoicing has broken out in the streets of the local village. Happiness has occurred!

(Should really have been a private message, but, hey, why can't we all celebrate?!!)

Of course the holdup could have been anywhere

If you look at the SMTP headers on the mail then you should see a timestamp from each mail server that handled the mail. This will usually show where the holdup occurred.

You can find these headers in Microsoft Outlook using View > Options and look in the box marked Internet Headers.
