Error Message 'Can't open any more databases' (XP/W2K)

Can any one help with the error message "Can't open any more databases" I have an Access XP application being used by multiple users. At no certain point this error will occur and I'm trying to work out what is causing it?

I have been unable to find any detail to date on the subject.
    Any help appreciated

    Cheers
    Tony

A quick Google turned up this thread from one of the newsgroups: http://dbforums.com/arch/106/2003/3/722511

Many thanks - my search skills still require some more refinement obviously.

Extending on from the news group post :

Is there a way that I can check to see how many table ids are indeed open & being used by a database??

As far as I know, the only way to calculate it it to look at your queries, forms, reports, etc. and work it out for yourself. A couple of other things to look out for are subdatasheets (which look handy but suck up resources) and lookup dropdowns in tables. Since users shouldn't be working in tables, those lookups should be there only temporarily when you're developing and then should be removed.
