Template Wizard won't save (2000)

    Hi All,

I'm (still) building my 'user satisfaction survey' using the Template Wizard addin. We've had a problem in testing: 2 users completed the survey, hit the Save button, & were NOT prompted to 'create a new record'. They were taken directly to the Save dialog box. I also notice that the database has several blank lines, which makes me wonder whether other users received the same response, but haven't reported it.

My hunch is that there's some interference with the security setting, but while I'm checking that, would love to hear advice from somebody as to whether I'm on the right track.

    Many thanks,

    deborahb

Just for cross-reference purposes, I assume the (Still) refers to <post#=288630>post 288630</post#> for anyone who wants the history.

In Xl97 you are not able to disable the macros (they are not normal VB macros). You can NOT open the template file in XL97 UNLESS you enable the macros.

I don't know how it works in XL2000. Is is possible to get this behavior if you open the file with macros disabled? If so, are these 2 users opening the form template with macros diabled?

Or maybe have their security set to high and get no prompt at all...

Well, when the security setting is high, they get a message saying the book can't be opened at all. And my instructions do ask them to hit the 'enable macros' button when it appears. So perhaps I need to ask them to make sure the security is set to low. Perhaps it's medium security that's screwing up the dialog box... (although why, I don't know).

Sigh. I can see that I'm gonna have to get them to email the darn thing back to me. (I hate Excel right now.)

I wouldn't ask them to set security to low, too dangerous.
