    Decimal places (Access XP)

I'm trying to modify a database field to now show decimal places. The field is formatted as "number" and I have chosen 1 decimal place in the design view and save the table...however the decimal places still do not show up in the datasheet view.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Re: Decimal places (Access XP)

You've got the field set as a number/Long Integer. Change it to Single or Double, and you'll get your decimals. When I experimented with this, I started with a field formatted as Number/Long Integer. I could key in, say, 10.75; but, as you found, the decimal disappeared when I tabbed out of the field. When you reformat the field to Number/Single or Double, the decimals won't automatically appear. You'll have to key 'em back in or do some magic in VBA or something like that. I hope you don't have like thousands of records....
