    Hyperlinking all Addresses (Word 2002)

    I have a word document that I frequently update the URLs in, and need a way to make all http://... addresses hyperlinked wihout going to each individual one and veriftying that it is still a hyperlink. If anyone has a macro or some other way of doing this that they would be willing to share I would greatly appreciate it.

    Can you explain your updating process in a bit more detail? I believe if you edit an existing hyperlink you are only changing the visible text and not the URL that will load when you click the link. Are you editing a hyperlink's display text and then want to run a procedure to make sure the actual address matches? Or... what exactly? <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Re: Hyperlinking all Addresses (Word 2002)

    If you press Alt+F9, you will see your hyperlink fields look something like:

    { HYPERLINK "http://some path" }

    Depending upon what path you're changing & what you're changing it to, there may be a Find/Replace procedure that will make the changes. But you have to make the changes to field codes, not to the display text. When you're done editing, selecting everything & pressing F9 will update the fields.

    On the other handj, if you have URL paths that are not hyperlinks (or if you don't know whether they are or not), you can make them all hyperlinks easily.

    1. Go to Tools/AutoCorrect.../AutoFormat tab (NOT AutoFormat as you type).
    2. UNcheck everything except "Replace internet & network paths with hyperlinks" (keep that checked).
    3. In your document, press Alt+Ctrl+K. Word will change all your paths to actual hyperlinks.
    Cheers,
