    Breadcrumb Trail

I'm looking for a server side breadcrumb trail script OR as second best, something that will generate the code in Dreamweaver.
    Any suggestions?

    Re: Breadcrumb Trail

    Hi Catherine,

I've always done this using "static" coding. This is because the pages of my sites typically have a specific heirarchy regardless of how the user arrives there (search, favorite, etc).

Are you trying to build this from the exact pages the user has recently navigated? If so, you can use the Javascript window.history object to list their recent pages.

Otherwise, I imagine someone has written a plugin for Dreamweaver that will generate this from a field code based on your site's navigation structure (somewhat of a longshot)...

    Good luck!

Google provides a good size list using 'breadcrumb navigation'... This looks interesting: http://www.zend.com/zend/spotlight/breadcrumb28.php

I think this is what I'm going to use.

    Cheers

    Re: Breadcrumb Trail

Just an update for those ASP.NET users out there... I came across this updated article on The Code Project: http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/breadcrumbs.asp
(You may have to sign up for their free registration in order to see the article...)

    Hope this helps!
