    {PRIVATE} (XO)

What the heck does {PRIVATE } mean in a document ??????? It's underlined with a dot format line. There are about a zillion in this Word document I got from someone else. This document does have a computer-generated table of contents, but I think the other codes I see are for that.

    Hi Linda,

I believe those are codes that transferred over when converting from from WP to Word. I just deleted them in my docs with no problems.

Thanks - you know, I asked her if she created this is WP and she just, apparently, bald-faced lied!!! Anyway - thanks for answering so quickly. I'll just get rid of them and go from there.

    Peace

There might be other situations in which Word creates {PRIVATE} fields, but I've never seen it create one using its native tools. (Doesn't mean an obscure feature might not use them, but I haven't seen it.)

Thanks for the reply. I'm just going to do what I think should be done - obviously, if the 'other" people even knew how to get this far they would have.

    Thanks again

    Peace
