text file output - specs (Access2002 or 2000)

Hi - what is the proper method for transferring output specifications between databases? I have two versions of the "same" database (one is an upgrade of the other - a few new tables) - - and I don't want to manually re-enter all my output specs (text format).

Thanks in advance for your generous assistance!!

You can import the specs, relationships, toolbars -- the same way that you would import other external data -- forms, queries -- etc. Just click the "Options" button when you get into the import screen, and there will be radio selections for special importing, and one of those is for specifications.
    thx

Does anybody know if these specifications remain stored in the database after you deleted the imported/exported table with which you defined them?
Imagine you use the specifications in VBA for export only and cleaning up your objects & database window, you want to get rid of tabledefs you don't use anymore...

I'm fairly sure they are kept in special system tables, offhand I don't remember what the table(s) are called.

They are stored in two system tables, MSysIMEXColumns and MSysIMEXSpecs, and you can use them for import or export, but the safe way to remove them is to start an export, click the advanced button and then click the button that lists specs. You can delete them from there.
