    export a query to excel (97 sr-2)

    I am trying to export a query in access 97 sr-2 to excel 97. When I click on the files options in access, excel is not listed. I went through the value pack on the CD and still could not find what I needed.

    Can you tell me what steps to take to get excel 97 to show up as an export option? I have the sr-2 cd. When I click about in excel it shows sr-2 and then a set of (). In the () is a straight vertical line. I don't know if this is causing a problem.

    I moved to a new computer and reinstalled office.

    When you install Office, one of the options is to install a series of data conversion tools - if you didn't select that full set it could explain why you don't see Excel as a choice in the export file types.

    The ISAM drivers for Excel may not be registered correctly and therefore Excel does not appear in Access import/export File of Type list. See this MSKB article for more info:

    Another possible cause:

    Removing/Adding Wizards Fails to Create ISAM Registry Key
