Viewing files in Word (XP2002)

Just received a new computer and lost my settings from the old one. How do I change the view feature in Word when I'm inserting pictures - to get away from Thumbnails to Details. I know I've done this before but lost my instructions. Thank you

Re: Viewing files in Word (XP2002)

Was it by using a macro that popped open the dialog and sent certain keystrokes to it? Here's Microsoft's article:

OFFXP: "Insert Picture" Dialog Box Defaults to Thumbnails View (MSKB 301459)

And for good measure, here's the code:

Sub InsertPicture()
'
' InsertPicture Macro
' Inserts a picture from a graphics file.
' Sets the View to (D)etail with SendKeys.
' View choices [change last Sendkey Letter].
' D - (D)etails view
' G - Lar(g)e Icon view
' L - (L)ist view
' M - S(m)all Icon view
' R - PŽoperties View
' V - Pre(v)iew View
' T - (T)humbnails View

SendKeys ("%L{LEFT}D")
Application.Dialogs(wdDialogInsertPicture).Show

End Sub

Hope this helps. If you had a better way, many people would like to know!

Check out the icon posted in the attachment. You will find in in MOST all "File Open", "File Insert" type of panes. This Icon will be in the Toolbar area of the Open or insert pane.
