    Hotkeys (Word 2000/SR1)

    I have menu events in a COM addin that I want to create short cuts to via keys( hotkeys), how does one do this?

    Hi Jim:
    I'm not a VBA expert, so I may be way off the mark. Are these main events listed as separate macros in a module? If so, you can open the COM, go to Tools/Customize..., click the keyboard button, scroll in the categories list to macros & then select the macro from right side. You can then assign a hotkey. The hotkey will supercede any similar assignment in normal.dot, but will not supercede a key assignment from a document or its attached template. See How Word Resolves Conflicts.

    Check the KeyBindings object in VBA/Word help.
