    View of MY COMPUTER

Is there a way when using MY COMPUTER you can set it so that all windows that are opened always & automatically come up in the LIST view format and also have the toolbar show. I'd like to be able to do this for NT4.0

    Setting Explorer view

Do you mean the view you get if you go

    Start | Run
    and enter
    %SystemRoot%explorer.exe /e,
    <Return>
    ?

Easiest way may be to create a new shortcut and add that as the command line.

For what it's worth, if you want to specify which folder Explorer opens up in, use:
    %SystemRoot%explorer.exe /n,/e,x:
where x is the folder you want as the initial view.

The switches are specified in <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q130/5/10.ASP>Q130510</A>

    Re: Setting Explorer view

The view I'm talking about is when you click on the "MY COMPUTER" icon on the desktop. I want all the screens including the very first one to open using the "LIST" view setting. I don't want the LARGE ICON, SMALL ICON, or DETAIL view. It doesn't matter what folder it opens with.

    Ah.
I believe it remembers and opens in the last view.
You may have more luck with <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=free&Number=8749&page=&view =&sb=&vc=1>Powerdesk</A>

Yep each screen will remember after you set each one that you open. I want a setting like win98 has that you set and every window opens to what I've set as a default.

If Powerdesk doesn't give you what you want, you maybe need to upgrade to W2K then, I'm afraid.
