    Webpage shuts the Dell DOWN

    Here's one for the Lounge...One of my user has a brand new Dell workstation running windows 98SE when he goes to www.eastonmusic.com/halland.html his computer slams down...not even a shutting down...the screen goes blank and is rebooted...scan disk run for an improper shutdown and he has to log in.....He is running IE 5.5 spk1 and the web page is accessible from another computer....besides ghosts and IBG errors (computer was built on an indian burial ground)any ideas....Thanks

    I take it, that this has NOT happened at any other site?

    I have seen this, but, I do NOT knew how it was fixed. I would think that if there is a script that is running at this site, it could be part of the problem.

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Thanks for the timley reply.....no he can otherwise surf fine and he wants to go to this page to see his companies web page that is under construction....I checked the script of the page no hidden text...no other scripts running <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Was running CA innoculan now running Trend OfficeScan....actually recently "upgraded" to Trend and havent tried the webpage since...I will and Ill get back to you....I try it with the AV client and without...thanks for the idea

    Not sure if it came with Macfee as a shareware or Nortons....mabey they didnt uninstall clean....sometime the AV product causes more problems than it fixes..[img]/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

    Hang on, I driving a Dell, laptop but should be similar.

    Been there and no probs.

    Incidently I have Win98 4.10.1998 and am use Sophos Intercheck as my AV. Not sure this helps.
