    Transferring to new machine (OE 5.50 / WIN2K SP4)

I switched to a new PC and transferred all my mail folders from the old to the new ... all are in the correct location, but OE will not recognize any but the manually created ones. "Sent mail" and "Inbox" are not recognized ??? Renaming them did not help, under their new names they are ignored as well. Using the "Import" function again does not list all the folders I want to transfer.
Any Ideas what I might try? Any programm for manually accessing the OE mail folders known?
Might AutoCad 2000i be the problem (the file type .dbx is assigned to AutoCad databases)?

    From XPert's Exchange http://beta.experts-exchange.com/Applicati..._20713790.html:

Before transferring message folders, right-click Deleted items and choose Empty 'Deleted Items' Folder. Now select File | Folder | Compact All Folders. Select Tools | Options, click the Maintenance tab, and click the Store Folder button to get the location of the DBX files that represent message folders. Do the same on the new machine.

Here's the tricky part: Launch OE on the new machine and create a set of folders that match those on the old machine precisely. Shut down OE and copy the DBX files from the old machine to the new system. You've successfully transferred your message and address book information.

Wow... lots of stuff, will take some time to digest & try. Thankyou very much indeed!
Looks like Microsoft never really thought about people buying new comps? Or why did they put in such a lot of hurdles ...

Skip down to the Tomsterdam link. MaryJ (fearless e-mail moderator) always recommends that site for this type of issue.
