    Since most people don't have Windows Server 2003 (especially in the Windows XP forum - is there a case for a New Forum, o Moderating persons?!!), the help you can get may be limited.

    But my money is on a comparison between the Properties of the WS3K icon and the one on the operating system which does what you want it to do!

    Check the default action for the file. Right click a .bat file (not a shortcut) and look at what is bold. That is the default action. Perhaps it is Print? Obviously that is either a security setting or a sign that your installation is dysfunctional. Use the File Types dialog (see my other post) to change the default action to Open (which, in BAT terms, should mean execute).
