Following advice from WOW, I ran the MS Office Update. Since then, every time I load an Excel file I get the error message: "Object Library Not Registered." It appears and I click "OK" 3 times then the file loads and I can work with it.

After opening this file, go to the visual basic editor (alt-F11).
Select the file's project in the project explorer window.
Choose Tools, references.
Note any that are indicated as missing and try to uncheck those.Jan Karel Pieterse
