    Setting up a WAN?

I have two LAN's set up at two different locations and at one location there is a file server running NT4 that I would like to connect to our second location (running 2000 with Active Directory). Right now we are using Terminal Services to connect to the other location to get at the file server (we have our own T1 line).
    I have two questions:
    1) Would creating a Wide Area Network to include the other network run any faster than the Terminal Service?
    and
    2) Can anyone direct me to a tutorial on how to set up my Active Directory Server for a WAN? The googles I have tried have brought up only definitions or courses available.
Appreciate any advice you can give.

    Re: Setting up a WAN?

Can't help out with the tutorial, although you would probably need to look at one of the Windows2000 modules from the MCSE courses.

On the speed issue I would expect the WAN to be slower than Terminal Server as TS only sends keyboard/mouse/screen refresh data. For a WAN the response is highly dependent on what is running across the link, replication configuration, and much else.
