Deleting attachments

I would like to be able store Sent and Received emails WITHOUT storing the attachments. Is there any way of doing this? All my efforts so far have succeeded in deleting the entire email! I am running Outlook Express 5.
Thanks in advance for any help.

with OE, there is no way to delete attachments that I'm aware of. double-check at http://www.tomsterdam.com

If you forward the email to yourself you'll be able to delete the attachments, however, you will "lose" the sender's name (but it reappears in the body) .

Of course, you could copy the body of the email into a text file ... but it's not a very elegant solution.

John I was reading a magazine the other day which had an article about a program that does exactly what you want. It's called OE Quick Tools 2 and amongst other things deletes attachments. Go to http://ajsystems.com. I don't know how good it is as I have not tried it, but have a go.
Update whoops tried the above link and although it goes to the right site there isn't a listing for the software it is made by them. Try emailing them or get PC Answers issue 92 April2001.

I just tried the link too, and it lists their software on the upper right side of the screen. I just downloaded a trial evaluation of ea2kmin.exe, their Express Assist software.
By the way, thanks for the tip. I'll install it tomorrow and I'll let you know how it works if you are interested.
