PPointXP: Numbered/Bulleted List - Wipe from left (XP SP-2)

    Hi,

On a PPoint slide, I have a bulleted/numbered list & want each point to wipe from left after keypress.
The attached scrn. shot shows the options offered by PPoint shows the 3 options are:

    1. by word
    2. by letter
    3. all at once

What I need is a "by point" option?!

    How can I do that?

    m.q.

If you had selected a text frame to apply your animation then you should have seen this tab as well as the two you showed...

Stuart's already shown you the place to set what "paragraph" level to animate, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this anyway. It's something I posted awhile ago in another forum, and it kind of goes through various options for setting text animations in PPT 2002 (aka XP). I especially like the option to click the downward-pointing arrow on the text in the animation task pane, as it allows you to set the options for each bullet separately.

    1. Right-click the textbox and choose custom animation

    2. Select Add Effect, Entrance, and choose an effect (I used Peek In for this example.)

    3. Click the downward-pointing arrow on the right of the "text 2" (or whatever it's called) bar that shows up in the animation taskpane.

    4. Select Effect Options

4a. Set the options in the effects tab. You can choose to peek from top, bottom, left and right. Also use this area to specify that the text comes in by word or by letter.

4b. In the timing tab, specify if the text should animate on mouseclick or if it should start the same time as another animation (with previous) or after another animation (after previous). Set a delay time, if desired, speed, and repeats here as well. Clicking the Triggers button will give you some advanced options--if you want to click a button and have the text show up, for instance, you'd use the "start on click of" trigger.

4d. In the text animation tab, you set the bullet level you want (what level of bullets come in when they animate). Setting an "automatically after" option here would allow you to start the textbox animating on a mouseclick, but the individual bullet levels would then come in automatically after however much time specified there.

    5. Clicking the downward-pointing double arrow on the lower left of the box in the animation taskpane allows you to set any of these items on individual bullet points.
