Chicken and Rice

In casserole, place in following order:
1 cup uncooked Uncle Ben's Rice
1 cut-up chicken or desired pieces
1 soup can cream of mushroom soup
1 package Lipton's Onion Soup Mix
2 soup cans water

Bake about 1 hour in 350 deg. F oven, or til water is absorbed and chicken done.

Variation on a theme

or,
take 1 can of cream of mushroom soup and add 1/2 can of water into a frying pan. Take the bits and bobs left over from that roasted chicken and put that in as well, hopefully at least 200gms or so. Cook on medium heat for 20-30 minutes. Serve with some steamed rice. Refuse to tell anyone what your secret recipe is

The wonderful world of convenience foods. I'm concerned that the dried soup might make it too salty. Not a problem?

I do not like salt, but this recipe has been a long-time favorite of mine. I usually prepare it with skinless chicken. And I sometimes throw in a bit of frozen vegetables. You can also replace the soup mix with chopped onion and/or onion powder which are in the ingredients. Maybe some garlic? The remainder of the ingredients--except for salt, yeast and corn starch--are variations of sugar.
