    I dunno if I'm over looking something obvious but,
    can someone please tell me what is wrong with this line of code.

    InStr ([][Table1]![Field 2], [filth]![Rude words][2])

    [filth]![Rude words][2] is what's wrong. What does the [2] represent? If it's a control name you need a band in there ([filth]![Rude words]![2]). If it's anything else, you need to explain.

    The [2] was acctually a mistake it was ment to be a [1] as the value for the constant "vbtextcompare", I hope that helps,sorry for the mistake first time.

    Try separating that parameter (vbTextCompare) from the prior parameter with a comma. And remove the brackets, since it is a numeric value and not a field.
