Same Word file difference size when attached

I have a question about attachment file sizes. I have a Word document that is 925kb. When I open a new message and attach the file when it is received and saved it is 925kb. When I open the same source document in Word and Select File Send that version of the document is 917kb when it is save. Both messages start with the same source document. Both versions of the received document appear 100% the same. I am anxious to hear what might explain this.

Me too, if anyone does know. Makes me wonder if there is potential for corrupting the document using the second option.

    which send as option?

it's losing so few bytes (and none on smaller files) i'm guessing it's properties, depending on the send (as word mail, for review, as attachment etc).

open both copies in a hex editor or text editor that has a compare feature and see what is missing.
