    grouping on XP forms (2002/XP)

I was wondering if there was a way to group records on a form similar to how grouping on a report works. For example, on my form, all of the items are either "A" or "B", and I need to group by each and have group headings showing the user. Thanks

Its a little unclear what you're after here, but sounds like a scenario for either two subforms queried on "A", "B" in the criteria for each.
    Or
Two Continuous forms to do the same.
With the Cont.. forms, you could set the border properties to look like its part of the main without any border effects.

I think Dave's suggestion of using two subforms which are not linked in any way to the main form is probably the simplest. As you have probably discovered, there are any the the GroupBy facilities that you have on a report.

That's because reports create a hierarchical recordset behind the scenes for grouping and sorting, and a recordset like that isn't updatable. That wouldn't be especially useful on a form. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
