    Removing touchpad

I have the Intellimouse installation package downloaded to my company Compaq EVO N610c. When I run it, it says it has to remove another pointing device, the touchpad, I guess, to install itself. I am concerned that if I agree to this, getting the touchpad back would be a problem. Would this be true? Or would it be simple to re-install it after taking precautions? Thanks

No experience with that specific config, but I have used Logitech trackballs on Dell Inspiron and Compaq Armada laptops. These worked both with and without the trackball attached without any problems.

    Re: Removing touchpad

I use a Japanese PC so the keyboard may be different from your
Compaq. I can disable the touchpad (hate that thing) by hitting F4
while holding down the Fn key. If you can't do that, you can disable
it through BIOS. Then you can just as easily enable it if you so desire later.
