    Record Too Large (2000)

I am trying to run a make table query which has a source of 3 linked tables and is trying to create a table with several fields containing URL paths. When I run the query I get the message 'Record too Large'. My fields are not especially long. Is there a limit in Access on the size of a record?

    Re: Record Too Large (2000)

The total size of a record in an Access table or query is 2,000 bytes (characters). The size of a record is the combined size of all fields. The size of a text field is the length of the text it contains plus 1, the size of numeric, date/time and Yes/No fields varies from 1 to 8 bytes.

    Re: Record Too Large (2000)

Hi, thanks for the info. I got round it by changing one of the fields to a memo field which only stores a pointer in the record, thereby reducing the size of the record.

    Cheers
