    highlighting (Word 2000)

Can anyone tell me a way to highlight blank spaces in a document. I tried inserting non-breaking spaces and Word still would not highlight it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is somewhat of a workaround and may not work for you depending on your situation. Instead of highlighting, you can apply shading to the empty space. Select the empty space, click Format, Borders and Shading, and apply whatever color you want.

Use Find/Replace. Select the text that includes the spaces that you wish to highlight. Or select nothing if you want all spaces to be highlighted.

    1. Bring up the replace box (Ctrl+H).
    2. Click "More".
    3. Find: type a space & clear the formatting in the Find box.
    4. Replace: type a space & click Format/Highlighting in the replace box.
    5. Click "Replace All".
    Cheers,
