    CD formatting (Xp Home sp1)

When I back up my "My Documents" folder to CD, I get a message from Roxio that I've exceeded the capacity of the formatting with too many subfolders, too deep. (Not the exact message, but that's the gist). Some of the files "might not be readable"...not exactly the backup I was looking for.
I've tried to find out just what the capacity of the CD format is, but no soap. Anybody up to speed on this?
    Appreciate it.

In Windows we can have 256 characters in the path and file name, but on the CD's we are limited to 128 (I may be wrong with this number). This is the number on1 problem with loooooooooong file/path names.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Thanks. I'm no expert, but I guess it's a habit from back in the DOS days with me, laying out logical file trees. I can't get used to the idea of dumping everything into My Documents and depending on the programs to sort them out.
Guess a bigger USB memory key is the answer.
