    Temporarily hiding Taskbar (ENG/XP/HOME)

I am writing an app using excel 2000. Once I open xl I would like to Call Windows and temporarily hide the Taskbar, then redisplay it as excel closes. I am using xp but would expect users to have older operating systems - probably clear back to 95

Does anyone know the vba code to do this? An API function or SHELL?

    Thanks
    Paul

Hiding and Showing the Taskbar contains the necessary code.

Be very careful! Make sure that your code contains error checking, otherwise an error may leave the task bar hidden, which can be very confusing to the user.

    Thank Hans,
I've been testing the code with error trapping to find the proper location within opening & closing procedures. I think I have it worked out. Thanks for the tip
