Window Open/ Save as (2002 XP)

    Good afternoon,

It's been a while (had a nice holiday!) but I'm back...
Is it possible to change the left side of the window 'Open' or 'Save as' - so that instead of history, my documents, desktop, favorites etc. I place my own shortcuts....?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Have a nice weekend! <img src=/S/burga.gif border=0 alt=burga width=40 height=15>

    Hi Daphne,

<!mskb=282087>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 282087<!/mskb> has a rather technical description of how to customize the Places Bar, as it's called ('Mijn Locaties' in Dutch). It involves editing the Windows Registry.

Woody sells a Places Bar Customizer - see New Utilities.

You can add new places and move them manually from the File > Open dialog. (Perhaps it is different for different dialogs?) But a utility probably would be more convenient. (Apologies to all for the wide screen shot... it was that or hugely tall.)
