    Equations in color? (97)

Is it possible to cause equations created with the Word equation editor to be printed out in color?

Sorry, no. The Equation Editor in Word is a stripped down version of MathType, which does have color capabilities; if you're interested check out MathType 5 for Windows vs Equation Editor.

You can't change the equation font color in Word, but the following trick may help for some purposes if you have Visio--or possibly some other application may do the same thing.
    1. Paste the equation into Visio, then "ungroup" it which will explode it into a bunch of individual text characters
    2. While the characters are still selected, use Format, Text, Color.
    3. While the characters are STILL selected, "group" them. This will reassemble the equation into a single "picture" object.
It is, unfortunately, no longer an "equation" so you can't edit it as such. However, you can still paste it as a useful picture back into Word, or Powerpoint, or anything else.
The reason I usually do this (as you may have guessed) is for Powerpoint presentations.
