    Fixed duration task (2002)

This is related to another post, but the recommendations didn't work. How do I schedule a fixed 1-week task for several resources? This is like a training class - 1 week, everyone attends, done.

The start-date is not known (it has precedents), but it is a 1-week task which will occur when all of the precedents are done, it will take top priority, and 5 people will work on it.

Project stretches out the week-long task to take 4 weeks, because it's trying to find times that all people are available for 5 days (1 week) each (for a total of 5 personweeks of work). UGH. Also, it needs to be top priority. Help...!

Here are somethings you could do to get around your problem. I am assuming that you are trying to level the tasks(for the resources also).
    1) Used Fixed Work and define the task as 25d (5persons for 5 days), then use each resource @ 100%
    2) Identify the predecessors
    3) In the task dialog mark the priority of the task as 1000 (then MS project will not level this task for the resources).
