I have two desktop computers downstairs, a few feet away from each other, one using ME and one using XP. I also have a laptop upstairs using ME. The printer is connected to the desktop using ME.
I am using the following Linksys products: A Wireless router (WRT-54G) with two wired connections to the desktops and a Wireless Notebook Adapter (WPC54G) in the PCMCIA slot. The high speed internet modem connects to the router. I have no problem regarding the Internet. However, I have not been able to set up file and printer sharing.
When I try to set up the two ME machines I get an error message saying that "netconn.exe" will shut down. Also, I have tried to use "This Wired Home" from Microsoft. No luck. When I try to set up the XP machine, I get the message "Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close." The XP machine had me make a setup disk to use in the ME machines. No luck. If home networking is so easy, why can I not do this? Nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
Thank you very much.
