New Hardware - NOT (XP Home)

I just upgraded from W98SE to XP Home. Every time my computer boots, it thinks it sees new hardware - my HP printer - but in fact the printer is installed and working correctly. I keep hitting cancel when this comes up. If there a way to stop this new hardware message?

    Jim--

One option with this message has been to plug USB directly into the tower, but say that's not the problem, I know your printer is working well, but check to see if their is an updated driver for the HP printer--sometimes that will fix this and check Device Manager.
