Excel 'Read Only' File (Excel 2002)

I have been using an excel file. I must have done something because now it opens as a 'read only' file. as a result I cannot enter new information in it.

How can i get rid of the 'read only' restriction?

Re: Excel 'Read Only' File (Excel 2002)

Is it read-only in Windows Explorer? (Right-click the file and select Properties; the General tab contains a read-only check box)

If you open the workbook, then select Tools | Options..., Save tab, is Read-only recommended checked? Has a Password to modify been set?

Has the sheet been protected? (Tools | Protection | Protect Sheet...)?
