    deleting dashes (XP)

I have 20,000 records that are formatted for phone number. I need to take all the dashes out. I tried several approaches to removing the dashes. I tried using find & replace from the edit menu but that wants to take the dashes out of the whole sheet. so unless I click through all 20,000 records, this won't work. I also tried doing text to columns but it takes the leading zeros out which is only a problem with the last four digits but a problem none the less. I went through about 1,000 records putting the zeros back in. Anyone have another fix?

    Laura,

The Substitute function should do it...

    =SUBSTITUTE(C2,"-","")

Put in adjoining column and fill down.
Copy and replace column with values.
    Delete original column.
