    Table Tents (XP)

I need to create table tents - cards that have writing on front and back (the back text printing upside down). They are placed on the table and you can be see text on both sides.

I was thinking to create a table and not show lines - but I can't type upside down!!

    Any hints would be appreciated.

Maybe I'll look and see what Publisher offers!

    Hi Sherri,

Not sure if this is what you are after or not.

    1. Create a one column/two row table.
    2. Type your required information in each of the cells.
    3. Right click in the left cell and select "text direction" from the menu
    4. Select the appropriate orientation from the three provided.
    5. Do the same for the right cell of your table.

This worked for me in Word XP on my machine so I should think that you will have the same options available to you.

    Cheers,

    Hi Barry:
I don't have Word 2002. In Word 2000, you had to use a 2 column/1 row table & change the text direction (which would only rotate 90%) for each in opposite directions. Does Word 2002 now give the choice of upside down? I'm not sure what you mean by the "right" cell in a 1 column table.

I assume Bekaygee actually meant a 2 column/1 row table, since he mentions a left cell and right cell. You can't create upside-down text in Word 2002, text can only be rotated over +90 degrees and -90 degrees, like in Word 2000.

    Thanks. Late at night (for me) <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>, things aren't always as clear. Time for me to <img src=/S/snore.gif border=0 alt=snore width=32 height=15>.

    Hi Phil,

    <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15>, Hans is quite correct, I did mean a 2 column/1 row table (it was getting late in the day for me at the time as well <img src=/S/yawn.gif border=0 alt=yawn width=15 height=15> ).

As Hans noted, you still don't get the option of upside down text in 2002, but I think that Sherri should be able to do what she needs to do with either Word 2000 or 2002.

Thanks for pointing out the error <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15> . Like I said, it was getting late in the day.

    Cheers,

Microsoft has a template that uses a different approach (text boxes, I think) at http://office.microsoft.com/templates/default.aspx which is their template download site. Search for table tent. J.Till
