    AutoText Style Change

Is it possible to change an autotext entrie's associated Style after the autotext is created? I've got tons of autotext created in the Normal style and I want to organize them according to new styles I've created. I don't want to have to re-create every autotext entry in the new style. Is there a tool or trick I can use?

    Kevin,

I think yer outta luck. Perhaps you could write a macro to cycle through all your autotexts, reapply new styles and resave them?

Macro time kev. You need to cycle through all your ActiveDocument.AttachedTemplate.AutoTextEntries
and print em out with a delimiting character between.

Then restyle to satisfy, then select all -> delimiter (I would use a selection.movenduntil ...) and add as autotext(n)

    Hi Kevin,

I've used a table in the past to do this, with the name of the AutoText entry in one column, the desired result entry in another, and a display of the actual entry in the third (an AutoText field). A macro goes through the table and adds the item in column2 to AutoText using the names in column1. Finally, it updates the fields in column3.

Unfortunately, I can't find the code right now. I just set it down a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was in the third pile on the left . . .

    Charles,

Thanks for your insights. If you find that code (check the 4th pile on the right under that big Lego box) I'd appreciate seeing it.
