customize shortcuts on 'open' dialog box (office 2k)

I thought I heard once of a way of customizing the default folder that appear on the left side of an open dialog box. Office has the "History", "My Docs", "Desktop", "Favorites", and "My network places", but isn't there a way of putting different ones there?

MSKB article OFF2000: How to Customize the Places Bar explains how to do this by editing the Registry. There are also utilities that allow you to customize the Places Bar, for example from Woody, see here, look for WOPR PlaceBar Customizer for Microsoft Office 2000.
