    Disappearing Office & Windows Settings

I have an older computer, running Windows 98, that keeps "losing" Office 2000, its desktop wallpaper, and any customized settings (i.e. monitor status, power settings, etc.) I have had to reinstall Office at least 3 times now. Does anyone know why this might keep happening? All the data from Office remains, but the programs themself seem to disappear and need to be reinstalled. Please help. I really don't want to have to buy a new computer.

Re: Disappearing Office & Windows Settings

Have you considered a repair install of Win98. You know, where you put your Win98 CD in, and choose the Upgrade option. It will load Win98 over the existing and replace any files and such that may be corrupt or missing, kinda like a Tuneup. You won't loss any of your Data or Settings. It's worth a try and is much eaiser then doing a clean install, and much cheeper then a new Computer, and if it fixes your problems, your set. If not, then we know to look else where for a solution.
