Could you describe this in more detail. I can't tell if it's a Windows issue or Word issue. Is there room on the taskbar or is it full? When you open more than two documents, can you switch to them using Alt+Tab? Can you see them listed under Windows on the menu bar?

You haven't answered all Phil's questions yet.

Let's say that you have already opened two documents in Word.
1.
What happens if you try to open another document from Windows Explorer?
a) Nothing
An error occurs
c) The document opens

What happens if you try to open another document from within Word (File | Open...)?
a) The File | Open... menu item is disabled (greyed out)
An error occurs
c) The document opens

If the document opens:
a) Can you see it in Word's Window menu?
Can you activate it by pressing Ctrl+F6 (repeatedly if necessary)?
c) Can you see all documents when you select Window | Arrange All?
d) Can you see it in the Task Bar?
Sorry for being a nuisance, but in order to find out what is wrong, we need to know exactly what happens.

By deleting the first post in a thread, you make the entire thread incomprehensible to other Loungers.

If the problem has been solved, or if the original statement of the problem is not relevant or correct, it is better to post a reply in the thread, or to add a note.
