Send Report via Email Access Snapshot (2000)

After I run a report I use Send To from the File menu to email a report as an attachment in the Access Snapshot format.
But when I do this the attachment to the email has a XLS extension (for Excel) not (SNP for Snapshot).
When I open this attachment with Excel is it junk but if I rename with a .SNP and open with SnaphotViewer it is fine.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

If you simply save the snapshot of your report, is it saved with a .XLS extension? I'm not aware of any bugs in this area, but do you have the latest service release/packs installed? SP 3 is the most recent for Office 2000.

I know it sounds weird but when I run a report and then use Send to , Mail Recipient using Snapshot it pops up in my email as XLS instead of SNP.
    SP 3 is installed.

Activate the following code from a command button and replace "ReportName" with your report's name, "FieldName" with the field containing the recipient's email address, "EMailSubject" with the subject line for the email, and "Message Text" with the email message you want to send.

DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "ReportName", "Snapshot Format", FieldName, "", "", "EMailSubject", "MessageText", False, ""
