Form auto data entry (Access 97)

I have a table containing Fields 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. I want to create a form in which I enter Field 1 and Field 2 data. The form will look up this combination of Field 1 and Field 2 data and automatically fill in Fields 3, 4, 5, and 6. This combination of data will be given an ID number and placed in a separate table, along with some other data entered on the form. Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    Craig.

Re: Form auto data entry (Access 97)

I would create combo boxes on the form that let the user select existing values for Field1 and Field2.

Are the data in Field1 and Field2 completely independent of each other, or should the choice for Field2 be limited to those corresponding to the value selected for Field1? The sample database Solutions.mdb that comes with Access 97 contains examples of doing this. Or see ACC: How to Synchronize Two Combo Boxes on a Form.
