    Finding Records (2000)

Hi, I have a form wherby people are constantly updating and inputting all day. I need to have a facility where a record can be located in the form at any time by searching by the ID number. The half way solution I have but is not working fully is a query set up that gets the citeria from user input on a n other form (search). A button on the search form runs a macro that applies a filter based on the query to the main form to show the recquired record is. This works fine but doesn't allow further searches even when the filter is taken off. For a new search the main form needs to be closed and reopened which isn't practical. A solution would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks you Darren.

The Combo Box Wizard has a handy option for this. Open the form in design view, and make sure that the Wizard option (the second button on the Toolbox, it looks like a magic wand) is "on". Now put a combo box on the form. The Combo Box Wizard will pop up, and offer three options. The last one, "Find a record on my form ..." is the one you want. The instructions are self-explaining.

Hans, if I could buy you a beer, you'd be in it for months. Thanks again Darren.
