Automatically drop down list on entering combo box (Access 2002)

Is it possible to have a combo box open the list to view as soon as the user starts typing? The normal mode is to have to click on the downarrow to actually see the selection list.
    Thanks

I don't know if it possible to do exactly what you want. You can open the list when the combo box gets the focus (whether the user types something or not), or when the user types something (whether it is the first character or not), but to do it only when the user starts typing seems to be more difficult.

Anyway, the code you need for a combo box named cbxSomething is simply cbxSomething.Dropdown. Depending on when you want it to happen, put it in the On Got Focus event, or in the On Key Down event.

You can do this by including a line of code in the combobox's Change event procedure:
    cboWhatever.dropdown

    Thanks Hans and Mark

Now I know how to get to all the facets of a particular object as well. Great
