    excel drivers (97srb2)

After installing office 97 on a win2k machine, I tried to import data into access from excel but the excel drivers where not in the list of data types. I reinstalled making sure the excel drivers are loaded. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening

    Cheers

What do you mean by Excel "drivers"? Access doesn't use ODBC to import Excel data; support for opening and linking Excel files is part of the Jet Engine.

When you select File | Get External Data | Import..., the Import dialog (a variation on the standard Open dialog) is displayed. The 'Files of Type' dropdown list should list (among others) 'Microsoft Excel (*.xls)'. Is it really missing on your system?
