    Outlook Archive (2002 (XP Pro))

    Good afternoon!

    It's a busy user day today! <img src=/S/bash.gif border=0 alt=bash width=35 height=39>

I would really like to know why I can't get a normal archive... I archive one folder, and when I look in de archive - the folder isn't filled?!
I'll tell you what I do:
    1. File, Archive, window Archive
    2. Check 'This folder with subfolders'
    3. Select folder
    4. Set the date for archiving before date
    5. Check the option for Not Autoarchive
    6. Choose location for .pst file
    7. Press OK.

I see an extra option 'Archive folder' - the archivefolder I saved can be found, but there's no content... I checked the dates and they are before the date I selected.
I let somebody else do the same, but we cannot get this done...
    What am I doing wrong?

    Many thanks in advance!
    Daphne

Add the modified date field to the folders - archive uses that date when determining what to archive.

(Right click on the field names an choose Field Choose, select Dates group from the drop down and drag Modified to the row of field names.)

Re: Outlook Archive (2002 (XP Pro))

    Goodmorning,

I want to try your answer, but now I have another problem: my archivefolder keeps disappearing even before I can check if the folders are filled...
I closed the archivefolder last friday, how can I retrieve this folder? (I cannot find this option?)
If I'm fast enough, I can add the field Modified, but it still doesn't work... but the folder still disappears..

    Many thanks in advance!

    Select Tools | Options...
    Activate the Other tab
    Click AutoArchive...
Write down the name and location of the archive file.
Cancel until you're back in Outlook
Select File | Open | Outlook Data File...
Locate the archive file and open it.
You can use the Folder List (from the View menu) to go to the Archive Folders; if you like, you can add a shortcut to the Outlook bar.

    Yessssssss, this works...! <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

Okay, the rest still isn't filled even though I added the modified field, but I can see my archivefolder!

    Thanks!
