    CD-RW plugging up

The church I attend has several CD-RW drives. All of them will not eject a CD-RW when it has been burned (usually for backups). If you even put a CD-RW disk that is NOT blank (does have data) in, the disk will not eject unless you reboot the PC and eject while the system reboots, otherwise in no case will the disks eject, the disks are new and used (there are about 6 disk we have tried) all are Imation 4x CD-RW. The dirves are Lite-on 24x yadda yadda or HP 8x yadda yadda. Any ideas?
Buy the way, this is not an issue with CD-R disks (blank, with data or that are burned on the PC) or prefabbed (manufacturer / Windows, Adobe et al) disks.

What happens if you right click the drive in Windows Explorer and choose Eject from the menu?

It will not eject. The button, "eject" selection under the drive or "eject" under Roxio (version 5) all do not work. The machines are either Windows 2000 (Lite-on) or ME (HP Pavillion - HP burner).

Something must be holding the CD in use. Do you have any packet writing software running?

None that I know of, maybe as a service, since it is Roxio 5 do you know of anything that would be running.
I bet it would have to be a Windows 2000 and Roxio 5 thing since I have XP and only have this same problem on my personal machine once or twice a year and I have had Win 98 and ME with version 4 and again the problem was infrequent.
Come to think if it though, one machine is ME and it is doing the same. Could it be a network packet or a shared program/resource?
When I go to church tonight I will try to take a look.

I don't know Roxio Easy CD Creator, but I have a strong suspicion that it is holding your CD open. This would certainly cause the symptoms you describe. Maybe someone more familiar with the product can suggest how to disable it or exit.
