Rearranging the Start Menu Items

     Loungers

I sure do hope you don't think I need a , but is there a way to rearrange the items in the Start Menu | Programs section without messing up the links or the registry or what have you?

or if that is inevitable, maybe recreate the links again?

I have two programs that I installed that I want to be combined under the same folder entry, so lets say for example:

Start | Programs | Excel | Lotus 123 should become Start | Programs | Spreadsheets | Excel Folder and Lotus folder in it.

Thanks for not me again. I'll try to behaive.

Re: Rearranging the Start Menu Items

    Hello Wassim,

The Start menu is a folder; Programs is a subfolder, submenus of Programs are subsubfolders and menu items are shortcuts.

Right click the Start button and select Explore if you want to modify your personal start menu, or Explore All Users if you want to modify the Start menu for everyone who uses your computer. (You must have Admin rights to do the latter.)

You can create new folders (=submenus), and move shortcuts (=menu items) to other folders, etc.

Implicit in what <!profile=HansV>HansV<!/profile> said is that you can dice/slice/reorganise/rename your Start Menu anyway you like and the shortcuts will still do the same thing.

I hope this will be as easy as my Outlook sorting question.

    Sorry for the confusion.
